Michael Laver is an Episcopal priest and a professor of East Asian History at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was called to serve Saint Michael’s parish in the heart of Geneseo, NY in February 2023.
Michael also serves as a trustee on the board of Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester as well as a board member of the Lutheran Episcopal Campus Ministry at RIT. He graduated in 2006 with a PhD in East Asian Languages and Literatures and in 2017 with his Master’s of Divinity from CRCDS.
Michael lives in downtown Rochester with his two boys Bennie and Ham and his wife, Dr. Anne Laver, professor of Organ at Syracuse University and University Organist.
